It looks like Natasha Thahane is not using his father’s surname of Tutu. She is the daughter of Trevor Thamsanqa Tutu. Trevor was born in 1965 and he was an activist in his younger days in the 80s. He ended up spending 3 years in prison for making false alarm about a bomb onboard on an airplane in Port Elizabeth in 1989. Trevor Tutu is the son of Desmond Mpilo Tutu was a South African Anglican bishop. Tutu was the Bishop of Johannesburg between 1985 to 1986 and then the Archbishop of Cape Town from 1986 to 1996. He was born in Klerksdorp. He have been married to Natasha Thahane’s grandmother,  Nomalizo Leah Tutu, all of his lifetime.

Tutu’s mother, Allen Dorothea Mavoertsek Mathlare, was born to a Tswana woman whilst his father was Xhosa from the Cape Province. She must be in pain for the loss of her grandmother, who opposed the apartheid government’s laws and ANC.
