Mediation between award winning DJ Zinhle and her former employee has failed.

This was that her ex employee is now set to go on trial for theft. The former employee is alleged to have stolen and unnamed amount of money from DJ Zinhle’s business account.

 

The media has now reported that 23-year-old Malatjie appeared at the Hatfield Magistrates’ Court and applied for mediation, to resolve the matter without proceeding with the prosecution.

She has since been jailed and charged with theft. She is now set to make her court appearance soon.

This was confirmed by the NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana.

“The mediation was refused by the senior public prosecutor. She is facing a charge of theft and it is alleged that the accused was employed at Era by DJ Zinhle and stole stock worth an unverified amount of money,” said the spokesperson.

It is further reported that the money which was stolen was never recovered and that is what prompted action to be taken.

Details about her arrest were also confirmed.

“Malatjie was arrested on 12 January 2023, after the police searched and found stock in her property. However, she was subsequently released on R5 000 bail, and the matter was postponed to 24 July 2023 for trial,” Mahanjana said.

This was the second time that DJ Zinhle has lost a significant amount of money. A former employee also stole from her.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that the suspect was arrested.

It seems as though DJ Zinhle would have to thoroughly vet her next employees.

She is yet to release a statement.
