Assassinated Induna Of Royal House Dr Khumalo Laid To Rest In KZN

Last week’s murder victim, Induna Dumisani Blasius Khumalo, was laid to rest in Nongoma after he had attended the city’s Annual Reed Dance. King Misuzulu trusted Khumalo greatly. Nongoma was the location of his burial.

According to Sihle Zikalala, MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Bheki Cele, Minister of Police, has assigned a police team to investigate the murders of traditional leaders. At the funeral for Dr. Khumalo, who was killed in a shooting last week following the reed dance in Nongoma, he made these remarks.

Suspicion surrounds the murder of Induna Khumalo, a close supporter of King Misuzulu KaZwelithini, as being related to the ongoing succession conflict within the Zulu royal household. As far as anyone knows, Prince Simakade, who is vying with Misuzulu for the crown, has not yet conceded.

However, the murder of a trusted advisor to King Misuzulu KaZwelithini is still under investigation. His assassination is suspicious for a number of reasons, including the fact that it occurred as he was returning from a ritual involving reed dancing.
