Local TV and radio personality, Anele Mdoda has announced today that she will host a red-carpet special at this year’s Oscar Awards.
Anele will be hosting an Mnet Oscars 2019 special to be shot on the red carpet at the glitzy ceremony where the world’s biggest movie stars will walk in the highest fashion imaginable.
Taking to social media, both Anele and Mnet broke the news this afternoon, sending fans into a frenzy.
“I will be hosting the red carpet at the Oscars this year for MNET and MNET MOVIES …and the Oscar goes to…you for making sure you don’t miss the biggest award show on earth,” Anele said as she let the cat out the bag.

Fans and industry peers have flooded Anele’s TL with messages of congratulations and sheer excitement.
This will be the first Oscar red-carpet special to be produced by a local team and hosted by a local personality.
The 947 host has already told fans that this is her dream job and she is beside herself to get the opportunity.
“I actually have butterflies in my tummy from the thought of hosting the red carpet at the Oscars!!!! It’s major vision board stuff,” she said.

The 91st annual Oscar Awards will take place on Sunday, 24 February at 17:00 in Los Angeles and will air live in South Africa on Monday, 25 February at 03:00 on Mnet (DStv channel 101).
